Bobbie Lee Spates Memorial Annual Scholarship

Health Careers – Awarded to an applicant who is a First Generation, African-American student pursuing a career in a healthcare field. Preference is given to an applicant who plans on earning an AAS degree from RVC in Nursing, Respiratory Care or Dental Hygiene. Applicant must have completed 12 credit hours at RVC and have a minimum 2.75 GPA. Preference is given to those with a 3.0 or higher GPA. Applicant may be full- or part-time. Applicant must demonstrate financial need by completing the financial aid process through the Rock Valley College Financial Aid Office, or through other means made available to the RVC Foundation staff. If a First Generation, healthcare field applicant cannot be found, the award may be given to any African-American student who is in a degree-seeking program and meets the GPA and status criteria listed above.
