This organization was formed to fund a monument to honor the citizens and emergency responders who died that tragic day. It is their ongoing mission to embrace the spirit of 9/11 and to honor the emergency responders of Winnebago County, who during the discharge of their duties, have made the ultimate sacrifice for the community they served. May we ALWAYS REMEMBER, NEVER FORGET.

While the 9/11 attack was a tragic event in our country’s history, the Winnebabo County 9/11 Memorial Board hopes to take that tragedy and turn it into inspiration to help those in need. One Rock Valley student will receive a scholarship to follow in the steps of those who serve and protect us every day.
