This scholarship was established in 2023 by Anna Wandtke. Anna is the Grant Coordinator for the Perkins Grant at Rock Valley College.

ANNA’S WORDS:
Many of the Perkins Special Populations have scholarships for which they were eligible to apply, but students with experience in foster care did not have a scholarship designated especially for them. Knowing the challenges that these students often face, I thought it was important to provide them with an additional resource to support them as they pursue their educational goals. An education from Rock Valley College has the potential to change lives and this scholarship brings us one step closer to removing barriers for all students and becoming a foster-friendly campus.
