EUGENE KYLE OBITUARY
EUGENE M. KYLE, 87, Rockford, died at 6:25A.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2007 in his home surrounded by his wife and daughter. Born December 16, 1919 in Gibsonton, PA., son of Germaine Casteen Kyle and George Kyle, Sr.. While stationed at Camp Grant in Rockford, he met Ruth Virginia Nelson and married her on February 3, 1945. He was the founder and president of Rockford Hardware Manufacturing Corp. for 47 years until his retirement. Veteran of the US Army, serving in the Medical Corps in the Pacific Theater in Guadacanal. He was a recipient of a Presidential Citation. Long time active member of Zion Lutheran Church. Also member of the Six Wheelers Motor Home Group and the Model A Club. He enjoyed restoring several Model As. Gene had a wonderful zest for life. He was a man of his word and was respected for his honesty and integrity. He appreciated children and enjoyed entertaining them. Survivors include his wife, Virginia ""Ginny"" ; daughter, Marsha Wurtlin, Rockford; sister, Elmira Steer, Belle Vernon, PA.; numerous nieces and nephews including Barry (Tom Boycks), Lake Mills, WI., George (Gloria) Mustybrook, Mary Gene Bridge, Belle Vernon, PA., Norman (Sara) Luce, Cincinatti, OH. And Bonnie (Lou) Hegedus, Chambersburg, PA. Predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters, 4 brothers and son-in-law, Don Wurtlin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Kent Hoskins and Peggy Malone as well as the OSF Center For Cancer Care and Heartland Hospice.

RUTH KYLE OBITUARY
Ruth V. “Ginny” Kyle, 90, lifelong Rockford resident, went safely into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born March 19, 1923, daughter of Carl B. and Hilma V. Franzen Nelson. She was a member of the first graduating class of West High School in 1941. She had a deep faith and quietly lived her faith in her daily life. She was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Dorcas Society and active in many aspects of the church. Married Eugene M. Kyle in Rockford on February 3, 1945. Ginny was always a very supportive partner with him in their successful Rockford Hardware Manufacturing business. She worked for Illinois Bell for several years and was part of a monthly Birthday Club with her friends from there. She loved to read, watch movies and could always be counted on for a shopping trip. Ginny was a kind, classy lady with a delightful sense of humor. God, her family and friends were always her priorities.

Survivors include her daughter, Marsha Wurtlin; special friend, Nancy Ullrich; cousins Ruth Brynhoff and Ruth (Jim) MacCollum; several nieces and nephews, including Barry (Tom Boycks) Luce, Mary Gene (Joe) Bridge, Ray (Brenda) Kyle and Gloria Mustybrook. Predeceased by her husband on February 15, 2007, her parents and her son-in-law, Don Wurtlin.
