Upon retirement, Dale took on the duty of Executive Director of the Illinois Police Association. The duties of that position included working with state and national political organizations for the betterment of all the police agencies in the state of Illinois,

Dale’s efforts have not only directly benefited the police officers of the State, but the populace of the State has been helped by the improvements in the law enforcement field – creating better police officers, better pay, pensions, and better working conditions for the officers.

Sherwood Camp (a “kids” camp) has also benefited from Dale’s efforts, striving to keep the camp open so that children throughout the state were able to spend a free week at a camp at no cost. Many weekends he gave of his own time to see that the maintenance of the camp was up to the high standards that all members of the IPA have regarded to Sherwood Camp.
